Why I Chose Bear
I can't remember when I first stumbled upon the Bear Blog platform, but ever since then I've been enamored by its minimal theming and no-nonsense approach. Throughout the years I found myself back on the platform, and this time after stumbling upon Bear's Discover page I decided to try casual blogging myself.
Have a place on the internet where I could share whatever I wanted, without expectation or even an audience to care about. Though why would I use Bear when I could make my own website instead?
In the end, I chose Bear because its there.
I realized at the very end of making my "Bear Inspired" blog was that I wasn't thinking at all about the content of my blog, just how it was made. I was spending more time building my blog instead of writing for it.
So at the last minute, I ditched my project.
For me, the limitations that Bear has (especially on the free tier) is what I need to put me in check. I don't have to worry about everything else about making a website, like meta tags or image optimizations. I can just focus on writing for my blog, and not get distracted by anything else.
Hopefully this means I can write more about stuff I've been thinking about, and do it more casually. I don't expect anyone to find this blog, in fact I hope it remains hidden. Though if you're a random soul who stumbled upon this post, maybe keep an eye out for more?
